Hello my lovely blog readers!

bridal makeup londonSince my last blog post at the start of March, the Spring wedding season has well and truly got off to a flyer! My K-Team and I have been dashing around London and the surrounding counties beautifying our brides, bridesmaids and mums.

As the K-Team‘s bookings diary is getting filled up and my lovely PA Jurate is handling lots of inquiries, I thought it was about time I came up with a clear set of Frequently Asked Questions and of course the all important Terms & Conditions so that each client can clearly understand how the whole process works.

Also, as I’m often unavailable to answer calls due to long days with my clients and I don’t want to keep having to miss them and only pick up voicemails late in the evening, we now have a new booking hotline (07931-041395) which Jurate will manage and therefore calls and voicemails will be answered more efficiently. Yay!

This month I’d like to shine the spotlight on my fabulous K-Team who are all absolutely wonderful people inside and out and utterly obsessed with makeup, hair and the wonderful world of weddings!

bridal makeup londonJust have a look at some of these images of their fabulous creations put together with huge amounts of skill and love. If I’m ever unavailable for a client’s date then I’m very happy to recommend my K-Team members as they’ve all been fully trained by me and we continue to constantly hone their skills by having focus days at my lovely studio. We work together on skills that they feel they still want to perfect and discuss any new trends that we are seeing in the makeup world.

We always need new faces to practice our makeup and hair magic on, whether it’s for my team’s focus days or for my private makeup courses. So if any of you, my fabulous readers, are free on weekdays please send us an e-mail and Jurate will add you to the list of models for future dates. You’ll hear from us very soon, I promise!

And let me leave you with a tip for brides-to-be:

bridal makeup londonYou have no doubt given a lot of thought and effort working out how you’re going to look on your wedding day, maybe starting with the dress, then the shoes, then the hair and makeup. Yet sometimes I’m told by my brides that there were no portraits that truly showcased their look on their wedding day.

It’s easy to get swept away in emotion on the day and to forget about finding time to have some beautiful portrait shots taken, so my recommendation is this – set aside just 10 minutes with your photographer for some beautiful bridal portraits in a perfectly lit space, whether indoor or outdoors. Your photographer will know how to accentuate your beauty in the best possible way. You just need to plan this in advance in your schedule, just as you plan group shots or shots with your loved ones, bridesmaids etc.

You will cherish these portraits for the rest of your life as they are lovely memories of just how beautiful you looked and how your stunning bridal style all came so exquisitely together.

Just freshly back from a lovely wedding in France – at Le Palace de Menthon in Menthon-Saint-Bernard.

The marriagebridal makeup london of my friend and model Hélène to her beau Bastien was at the most stunning location…

The bride arrived in style – elegantly seated on the front of a boat. I applied her makeup and tested some new products to ensure longevity as well as heat resistance as the day was beautiful and warm… but very very long. The makeup stayed perfectly, no touch-ups besides lips were needed. Happy bride, happy makeup artist :o) Their big day was beautifully captured by a member of my creative team – Kristida (www.kristida.com) who is an award-winning photographer and creates the most incredible images.

I also had the chance to meet one of the world’s top makeup artists – Laura Mercier – whose products I love and use. I was fascinated to hear all about her ethos and the theory behind the flawless skin application that she’s mostly famous for. She’s someone who created the world’s first primer that we all love using.

She also believes in the power of educating women on how to create beautiful “no makeup” looks, rather than doing a hard-sell of her products.

She’s just lovely and meeting her and picking up tips from her was a true joy and inspiration.
