Hello once again to my loyal blog readers!
So the wedding season is in full bloom and it’s getting harder to keep on top of things. But nonetheless here is my latest blog update… Staying focused with social media temporarily switched off definitely helps to fire through my seemingly endless to-do list.
It’s been a fun summer so far! From weddings to special events, to OBE recipients, to private lessons and professional courses, editorials and many more things to boot – I feel blessed to have such a whirlwind of a life spreading beauty far and wide.
Lately bridal makeup lessons have been super-popular with brides going to marry abroad or at more remote places where the makeup artist of their choice isn’t readily available. In two hours we work out their perfect look, make a list of the necessary products and brushes required and get plenty of hands-on practical action in.
One of the brides who studied with me – Emma Johnstone – told me that she practiced the bridal look she learnt with me about 10 times in order to master it and later reported just how happy she was with the final result. She felt so inspired that after the wedding she decided to take a bridal makeup artistry course with me which she has successfully completed.
A new K-Team member that will be joining towards the end of summer will be an HD eyebrow specialist. A lot of my brides keep asking where they can go have their eyebrows perfectly shaped. Now they’ll have the opportunity to do so with my team and get the eyebrows they’ve always dreamed of!
After all, good eyebrows frame our face beautifully and complete that flawless look that all of my clients are after.
Also, more and more clients book my makeup services with a view to getting their dating portfolios updated with fresh images or corporate head-shots renewed – I love taking portraits and always strive to take the most beautiful shots of each client, even if a lot of them tell me that they’ve never had a great picture taken before. I think everyone has their best and most flattering angle. Being a makeup artist I am able to seek out these angles as I am focused on bringing out my clients’ best features.
I am also a professionally trained photographer and have been taught by various international award-winning portrait and fashion photographers. Having makeup beautifully applied and then captured in gorgeous portraits is a perfect combo.
So whether you want to update your portfolio, dating website pictures, LinkedIn account, other social media or corporate profiles, or simply to have fun, please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your requirements and book in. Some brides even go for bridal boudoir shots which they later gift to their husbands on the morning of their wedding or another special occasion. It is a definite hit with the husbands! The K-Team is here and ready to style and capture you at your most beautiful!
I’m always so delighted to receive thank you cards, e-mails and Facebook reviews. One of my clients – Davina Tanner – recently collected an OBE from The Queen and e-mailed to say that she felt 10 years younger after the makeover and for the first time liked herself in the pictures. That’s the result I always want to achieve for each of my clients and so far a positive stream of feedback has confirmed that.
And finally my latest tip for brides: skincare… invest in one good facial session as early as possible before your wedding. You will then have a clear understanding about the skincare regime that is most suitable for you and better skin on your wedding day means smoother, longer lasting makeup.
My favourite skincare products are by Environ. Many of my brides have benefited from switching to them. It was the only skincare brand that managed to sort out the confused skin I had some time ago and since then I’m a fan. I don’t sell and am not endorsed by this brand nor do I seek to be, it’s purely based on experience.
Enjoy the gorgeous summer – may it be filled with lots of laughter and beautiful sunny moments!
Oh, I almost forgot, we recently filmed a video for brides-to-be to demonstrate three different makeup and hair looks on the same model. Check out the clip and hopefully you’ll get a bit of inspiration for your own wedding look…
