Hello my lovely readers! I know, I know, it’s been a little while since my last blog post however I’ve been diligently keeping my social media up to date which is always quicker. I’ve missed writing more than 3 to 4 sentences though and elaborating in more detail on what’s been happening with me and the K-Team which is why it’s time for a blog post.
The biggest news is that we’ve moved to a new premises! Yay! We’re still in Richmond but even more in the heart of the town centre than before (5a-7a Golden Court, Richmond TW9 1EU) and now have a more private venue where we can offer a bigger variety of services in the comfort of a cosy and intimate studio space. It’s been a crazily busy few weeks what with the move and trying to work around it as there’s been no breaks in our schedules whatsoever. We moved in the evening after a busy day and the following morning I had a makeup course to run and a private lesson to do.
It’s very exciting at the moment as I’ve been dreaming of a private space for a very long time. Now it’s all about designing the interior to the highest specification so that we can serve our clients in the most luxurious and comfortable environment. We’ll be offering new services such as birthday/special occasion treats with red-carpet worthy hairstyling, makeup and gorgeous portraits in a package. (Not forgetting the bubbly too!)
I will also soon be stocking a fabulous, high-end British brand, in fact the makeup is London-made so couldn’t get any more local – Cosmetics à La Carte. They’re a gorgeous brand with wonderful products and their ethos fits very well with my own – no bad things in their ingredients and perfect skin-loving textures and colours. Check this space for more on our collaboration coming soon.
The K-Team’s wedding calendar is filling up super-fast and we’re happily looking at a very busy wedding season once again. We’re about to welcome another couple of new team members too who have been going through their very meticulous training for the last year. The select few that make it into the team have to pass a very strict regime – constantly practising, training, assisting, observing, more training and more practising… Only then are they ready to start work on styling our gorgeous brides all over the country. They have to be able to deliver the most amazing customer service, be super-friendly and helpful and of course be totally obsessed with the beautiful world of weddings! Only the best will do for the K-Team’s brides and clients!
The last couple of months have been hectic as usual for me with training new bridal makeup artists and hairstylists as well as getting the Kristina Gasperas Academy website going (www.kristinagasperasacademy.com). As always, I’m very proud to see how my students become professional makeup artists and Kasia’s students become hairstylists. We always strive to keep in touch with our students once they have completed their courses and everyone is welcome to pop back to the studio to assist or get involved in more makeup and hair practice sessions. We’re about to add some more courses to allow more flexibility for students wishing to train whilst still holding down full-time jobs – think evening courses or more intense longer days.
In the meantime our lovely Aušra has learnt how to shape, correct and define perfect eyebrow arches and she’ll be offering our clients this service as and when required. Our semi-permanent lash extension technician Jane is also back from maternity leave after having a gorgeous baby girl just over 4 months ago. She’s completed further training in 3D, 4D and 5D lash extensions – which are much finer, more natural looking and last for 3-4 weeks. I’m about to arrange a session for myself to test these new lashes out – keep an eye out for some before and after pix soon!
That’s all for now – until next time!
